Black Friday Deals!

We couldn't resist the Black Friday Deals either. We left our apartment around 11:45 PM and returned by 12:45 AM. Below is a picture of the huge line that circled around to the back of the building where we were at the end.

It took us about 10 minutes to make it into the store. As we entered the store we could hear the crowd outside cheering as the first successful customers carted out flat screen LCD TVs.

The store was rather organized and they seemed to have plenty of TVs and other electronics. After we asked a store employee we quickly made our way to the back where a large stack of our desired merchandise was waiting for us.

...And as you can see in the other picture below we were able to get in and out with our new Casio keyboard.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Yes, I went to the "Midnight Release" of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Yes it's my 3rd year in a row to go to the same Best Buy and get the latest Call of Duty game. Once again they held a simple Single Elimination Tournament where we played 4v4 Team Deathmatch on Black Ops. I couldn't get a full 4 guys to meet me at Best Buy, so I showed up by myself and joined the first team who still needed an extra. They clearly weren't the best players, but what did I expect?

Anyways, we won our first 2 games, with me leading the team, and finally lost to get 4th place in the tournament during the 3rd round. I believe I joined a random team 2 years ago and got the same placing with a similar team.

So, it was a late night and it will take me some time to adjust to the new game...

Cardiologist Appointment

Good news! I went the heart doctor a little over a week ago, and I was told everything looks good. The doctor then said, "you'll live forever."

Well thanks doc, I'll pass that on to my friends and family as an excuse to live my life however I want with no regard for dying.

Haha, just kidding, but apparently my heart is healthy and assuming nothing drastic happens I should live a normally long life. Here's my x-ray for proof. I snapped this photo when they left me in the room by myself.

Halloween Pumpkin Carving

This year for Halloween I decided to carve a pumpkin. Since Sarah is so busy I decided to carve one for her too. The basics steps for how to carve something like this is to simply print out the design, trace the design onto the pumpkin by poking little holes on all of the outlines, then shave off the parts of the pumpkins skin you would like to remove.

The deeper you shave off the skin the more light will glow through.

AT&T = Poor Customer Service

Alright so I've had problems with AT&T before, but this is ridiculous. I'll try to keep this short as I'm sure most people really don't care. I cancelled my DSL from AT&T, and they sent a full final bill for the last month. Now most people might not know, but I remember that I was paying for the service a month in advance, so the final bill should have only been a very small amount for the few days I hadn't paid for yet.

I called AT&T to mention this to them because I was waiting to receive a revised final bill, but all I got was another bill and a late notice. They informed me that I was wrong and I still owed them for a full month's service. Because of the fire and all of the other busy stuff we had going on I simply paid the final bill since I didn't have time to look up the first bill we ever received from AT&T.

Now over a month later I received this $30 credit. Go figure, exactly what I tried to tell the lady on the phone, but no I was clearly the wrong one.

Welcome to Memphis Laundry

This is the local laundromat by our apartment. We've spent the last 2 Saturdays here washing the clothes that didn't need to be dry cleaned because of the smoke.

Sarah also spent most every day or night washing clothes in our washer and hanging them to dry.

I have 4 loads in right now and after they are finished we'll only have about 3 or 4 loads left.

Hopefully this is the first post of many that give a glimpse into my relatively simple life.

Oh yeah we don't live in Memphis that's just the name of the street.

Still have not started blogging.

Wow, way over a year since my last post. I've been meaning to actually attempt to blog on a somewhat regular schedule.

Let's see how long this takes to follow through.
